George Russell reaffirmed his unconditional loyalty to Mercedes and his intention to continue with the team led by Toto Wolff into 2026 and beyond. We are now deep into the week leading up to the
British Grand Prix, the home race for
George Russell as well as Lando Norris and several other drivers on the grid.
Russell, car number 63, is one of the hottest names in the driver market, with the Englishman yet to renew his contract with Mercedes and Max Verstappen still firmly on Toto Wolff’s radar.
The Englishman, who secured a brilliant victory in Canada just two weeks ago, admitted he doesn’t pay much attention to the news and isn’t particularly worried about the rumours circulating in recent days.
Russell stays loyal to Mercedes
Attending the press conference ahead of his home Grand Prix at Silverstone, Russell also reaffirmed his unconditional loyalty to Mercedes and his intention to continue with the team next year.
''Any teams who did reach out in the past, I said, look, I am loyal to Mercedes, that's where my future lies. And ultimately, Mercedes are my manager, so it has to be dealt through Mercedes in the first place.
But yeah, there hasn't been a lack of interest, let's say. But I've been focused on my side. I am loyal to Mercedes. So, at the end of the day, everything will work itself out and the likelihood I'm not at Mercedes next year, I think is exceptionally low''
