Verstappen to Mercedes? Dry Alonso offers blunt response on transfer saga

Alonso and Verstappen have been getting along well in the F1 paddock for years, and have sic world titles between them. Currently, there are many rumours about the Red Bull Racing driver moving to Mercedes. The Spanish veteran, therefore, was asked if he had any thoughts on the potential move.

GPBlog asked Alonso if he had any advice for the Dutchman; however, he interrupted the question, stating, "I don't know, and I don't care."

Yet, Alonso did not leave it at his first brief answer. The 43-year-old joked that Verstappen still could receive his advice, at a cost.

"No advice. I mean, well, I can be a consultant, but they need to pay a huge amount of money. At the moment, no advice. pay a huge amount of money," Alonso joked to GPblog and other media present in the Silverstone paddock before British Grand Prix proceedings get underway tomorrow.

At Silverstone, rumours that surfaced Wednesday night on Sky Italia have become the main topic of conversation. With media day underway for the British Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz addressed speculation about potentially replacing Verstappen at Red Bull. Isack Hadjar also weighed in on the possibility of joining the Austrian team.
