Carlos Sainz has been called to the stewards after a dramatic moment in FP2 at the British Grand Prix. The Williams driver spun and came dangerously close to colliding with one of the Ferraris — and very nearly with Lewis Hamilton.
The FIA wasted no time in stepping in. Following the incident, Sainz must now explain himself to the stewards at the end of FP2 after rejoining the track in a way that almost caused a serious collision with Lewis Hamilton.
Fortunately, the situation didn’t result in contact, but it was a near miss — just a couple of meters separated the two cars. A penalty may be on the cards, with the stewards' decision expected shortly.
