Max Verstappen gets a new upgrade on his RB21 for the Austrian GP. This upgrade is crucial for the continuation of his season and keeping his championship dreams alive. The Dutchman himself revealed how he collaborates with Red Bull Racing to introduce the right upgrades to the car. “What I expect from a car does not match what other drivers might prefer, but that’s very normal,” Verstappen began in front of GPBlog among others at the press conference in Austria. “I focus on what I expect from a car, and that's something I was taught from a very young age. For me, it’s very natural and nothing out of the ordinary,” added Verstappen.
Furthermore, the Red Bull driver shared that it's simply his way of doing things. He is always aimed at improving the balance and finding the right compromise between understeer and oversteer.
“You don’t have to be a rocket scientist for it, it’s all about feeling and what the team sees. That’s how we communicate about improving the car. We build a new car every year and there are always things that can be better. This is a constant process in Formula 1,” concluded the Dutchman.
